1. North Creek Wetland Trees & Shrubs
Hiding... right in front of us!

Have you ever seen this poster on your way to the green house before? 

Since 2021, we have been scavenger hunt these North Creek Wetland Trees & Shrubs on campus. They might be lying right in front of us, without us noticing!

2. Mahonia nervosa
qʷəbqʷəbčac/Oregon Grape

You might have seen this plant somewhere before on campus. They are Mahonia nervosa, or qʷəbqʷəbčac/Cascade Barberry/Oregon Grape. Oregon Grape is used by Coast Salish people as dyes. 

This bush was spotted next to the stairs in front of the ARC.

3. Gingko biloba
or the Maidenhair tree

In the fall, you'll see a beautiful tree in front of UWB shedding their yellow, fan-shaped leaves. They are the Gingko biloba, or maidenhair tree.
Watch out for these beauties!

4. Callicarpa bodinieri 
var. giraldii ‘Profusion’

The purple Beautyberry that matches UW Logo!

Noticing a purple bush of berries behind the UW Bothell Logo? You might want to know these are Callicarpa bodinieri var. giraldii ‘Profusion’, or the Beautyberry.
